The Mission\u00ae Cholesterol Control Solution is designed to validate cholesterol testing when using the Mission\u00ae Cholesterol Monitoring System. The solution contains a known quantity of cholesterol that reacts with the components of the reagent strip. It is transparent and includes stabilizers, preservatives, and additional chemicals. High-density lipoprotein (HDL) and triglyceride (TRIG) are included in the same control solution, while total cholesterol (CHOL) has an individual control solution. The control solution is applied to the specimen well of the Mission\u00ae Cholesterol Test Device, which is already inserted in the meter. The onscreen result confirms that the test device and meter are functioning correctly and that the test is being performed accurately. The control solution is available in two levels and is ready to validate the testing of CHOL, HDL, and TRIG.
